The Power of Prayer
Do you know how to pray? We pray in an emergency, at times of trouble or danger or when death lurks. Prayer is an ever present help in time of trouble but we do not have to wait for trouble to make prayer an integral and constructive part of our life. Prayer is an intimate and personal communication. A person who is in trouble can have difficulty in thinking and acting reasonably. They need an easy formula to follow.
Prayer can bring success into our life, can sustain health and it can enable us to become more helpful to others. “The forces that make prayer effective are universal. Its not the method or the process that makes the Infinite Intelligence to respond; rather it is according to our faith or our complete mental acceptance that it is done unto us” as Dr Joseph Murphy has aptly remarked.
Emerson defined prayer as “the contemplation of the truths of life from the highest point of view”. All of us want peace, happiness, love, health, security, true expression etc. If we believe in something it means that we accept it as true. Whatever mans conscious mind engenders a corresponding reaction from his subconscious mind that is one with the Infinite Intelligence and the Infinite Power of God. When the individual’s subconscious mind responds to the mental picture or the thought in the mind, then a prayer is answered. Prayer has a wonderful, magical, healing and transforming power that will bind up mental and physical wounds, proclaim liberty to the fear-ridden mind and liberate us completely from the limitations of poverty, misery, confusion and failure. All we have to do is to unite mentally and emotionally with this Creative Power, and let wonders happen when we pray.
(Inspired by the writings of Dr. Joseph Murphy.)

Success Vs Relations
Hi everyone!
Well this article of mine has to do more with women but of course sometimes men also have to undergo such tension as whether to strive for success i.e. do something YOU want to do or to just be happy with what others want you to do. But men at least have a career whether it’s of their choice or someone else’s. But women sometimes have to choose between having a career or to sit at home. Before marriage the decision is taken either by the father or brothers- whether she should work or not. In northern India we can still find homes where people want their daughters to become graduates so that they can get good grooms.
And after marriage it’s the husband’s decision whether the wife can pursue a career or profession of her choice. Sometimes due to orthodox views women are not allowed to take up a career of their choice. For instance if a woman wants to act in television or maybe she may want to go for theatre, most middle class families will say a clear no for it. They may be justified in their thinking but let the other person find out for herself whether that particular profession is the right choice for her. Sometimes such a problem is faced by men as well. A doctor will want his son to be a doctor. If the son wants to become an actor then the drama begins.
Well what I have written is in context to our Indian society. Its high time individuals should be allowed to pursue careers of their own choices. They should be given the freedom to get the experience whether their chosen field is good for them or not. Later on it’s their choice what to do with their lives. But why to deny them the freedom to explore? As a saying goes-Do what you like and you won’t work for a single day in your life.

Ashima.

Hi Friends!
Hi Friends!
This is my first post.I was thinking for a long time to come up with this, that is my blog, and here I am! Recently what happened is that I prayed for a few friends of mine who were facing some problems.By God's grace they are out of those adverse circumstances. My friends thought that my prayers have helped them and I experienced an unmatched happiness and peace within. Then I thought why not pray for other people who are in difficulties and problems? TRUST ME if you can confide in me and share your problems with me, I will try and find a best possible solution and will also PRAY for you.Or you can simply give your full names to me and I will pray for you for sure.I believe that God listens to prayers faster if we pray for others. So I will wait for your response and will be too glad to help you and pray for you.
I am not a professional writer. But sometimes I have that great urge to share my thoughts and feelings with people. These sharing's can be related to anything. About any personal experience,my views on any topic, about anything that I would like to share. And yes dear readers your comments and views are welcome too.
Regards,
Ashima.
